CACRC was incorporated as a Non-Profit Organization in 1996, and is one of the first non-profits in the country to become R2 & RIOS certified. Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, CACRC recycles E-Waste throughout the Gulf Coast Region and participates in regional city and parish recycling events. CACRC reuses and recycles over 1,500 tons of electronic discards annually from government agencies, businesses, and individuals.
As a licensed Microsoft Third Party Refurbisher (TPR), CACRC manages community programs (Computers for Louisiana Families) selling at a discount to seniors, veterans, and other non-profits, schools, and low income families. These computers are loaded with the latest Windows software and carry a one year warranty.
In 2006, CACRC spearheaded a national hurricane relief effort following Hurricane Katrina and donated over 3,500 computers to families and businesses that were affected.
In 2020, through a grant partnership with BRAF, CACRC distributed 1400 computers to families following Louisiana’s shut down during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
CACRC has received numerous recognitions and annual LA DEQ Environmental Leadership Awards.
