CACRC Hosts Computers for Christmas Event in Natchitoches, Providing Laptops to Children and Families in Need
Natchitoches, La. — Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council (CACRC) successfully hosted its Computers for Christmas – Natchitoches event on December 22, 2025, at the Natchitoches Events Center, providing laptops to children and families in need and helping bridge the digital divide in the local community.\
The event distributed refurbished laptops to selected recipients, giving children access to technology needed for education, virtual learning, and essential online services. The initiative was made possible through generous grant funding from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, whose support allowed CACRC to expand its holiday program into Natchitoches.
CACRC partnered with CASA of Central Louisiana to identify children in foster care and families experiencing need, ensuring the computers reached those who could benefit most.

“Computers for Christmas is about more than gifting technology—it’s about gifting new opportunities,” said Michael Rachal, Executive Director of CACRC. “By placing computers into the hands of children and families, we’re helping open doors to education, connection, and long-term success. We’re incredibly grateful to our partners and supporters for helping make this event a success. This year’s Computers for Christmas event in Natchitoches was especially meaningful to me. As a Natchitoches native, it was an incredible full-circle moment to pour back into a community that once poured so much into me.”
Hosting events like Computers for Christmas serves as a cornerstone of CACRC’s mission, combining environmental sustainability with meaningful community impact during the holiday season. Computers for Christmas is just one of CACRC’s many initiatives aimed at bridging the gap in technology access across Louisiana.
